Women Driving Technology: Before, During and Beyond

http://www.ieee-iccs.org/2012/public.asp?page=panelsession.htm

*Topics 4 discussion:

  1. What are the achievements of the current education systems? Has education transformed the status of women in their careers, and helped them make inroads into certain traditionally male-dominated sectors such as engineering/IT/defense? What are other challenges faced by women as they seek careers in these arenas?
  2. What are the limitations of the current education systems? Do the old doctrines still trap women, and relegate women to supporting roles in their careers? What can be done to increase the number of women working in some traditionally male dominated fields? What can be done to help women in achieving family-work balance?
